Jewish learning and pride, in a fun and inclusive environment.

The DATA Sunday Experience, a program of DATA of Plano, offers an engaging and interactive Jewish learning environment designed specifically for children and their families. The program emphasizes a warm, community-oriented atmosphere that fosters both personal growth and a strong Jewish identity.

DSX provides a comprehensive curriculum that includes Hebrew language instruction, exploration of Jewish holidays and mitzvot, and development of core middot (character traits). The educational model prioritizes hands-on, experiential learning to ensure that content is both meaningful and enjoyable for students.

Programming is structured to accommodate varying levels of background and experience, enabling access to Jewish education for a broad range of participants. In addition to weekly classes, DSX offers a variety of extracurricular events throughout the year to reinforce classroom learning and strengthen community bonds.

  • What is the religious affiliation of the DATA Sunday Experience?
The Sunday school is a division of DATA of Plano, a Jewish educational institution servicing the Jews of the Metroplex across all spectrums. There is no religious affiliation or prior knowledge required for registration, and our current students span all factions of Judaism; Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist, Modern Orthodox, completely unaffiliated, and everywhere in between.
  • What ages does the DATA Sunday Experience service?
School-aged children from Kindergarten through sixth grade are welcome at DSX. For preschool inquiries, please contact us at office@dataofplano.org. Check out our many other programs for middle school students here.
  • I went to Hebrew school as a kid, and I hated it! How are you different?
We are aware of the negative association many children have with Hebrew school, and we are out to shatter those perceptions. Teachers invest a tremendous amount of effort into making the learning engaging and fun. A DATA student walks away with a passion for their Judaism and for Israel, and a deep understanding of the "why" behind the mitzvot. At DSX, we value a good time, and we even sit back and get silly sometimes. Stop by today to see the difference!
  • What are the dates and times?
The school year for the Sunday school begins on September 7th, and run every Sunday throughout the school year, with the exception of Jewish holidays and school holidays (based on the Plano ISD calendar). Classes on Sunday run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • What are the financial obligations involved?
Full tuition for the DATA Sunday Experience is $950 for the year. There are numerous scholarships and other opportunities for discounted tuition. We offer a new family discount, a multiple child discount, and an adult learning discount. Families in difficult financial situations are encouraged to discuss their needs with the director. The DATA Sunday Experience will never deny a Jewish child the education he or she deserves due to financial constraints. In short, all Jewish children are welcome, regardless of their ability to pay tuition.
